Get one of them new shift arms from that fella in Tennessee if budget allows ($150), so you wont have any problem with the moco's half *** **** design stocker later on.

Excellent advice on using Impact wrench for Comp.Nut.
Its not advised in manual to use Impact Wrench but you can do a lot of damage to your back if you use the long tube + socket method.
If the Comp. Nut has been tightened previously using heavy duty "loctite"
it can take some shiftin !!
Sorry.....comment obsolete. Just realised you were way ahead with removing engine.
