1991 fxr 5 speed pulley change
I was thinking of changing the pulley on my scoot to get more performance out of it, but I do some interstate travel and was wondering if anyone has done this and what were there results? Its a 5 speed will i regret it when i travel long distance's on the interstate? How many teeth are on stock 91 fxrs and how many should i go down to?

Use 'edit' for that post and delete all the stuff in [square brackets], plus the brackets themselves.
I've changed gearing on a couple of my bikes, so have some experience. The best place to change gearing is at the crankshaft sprocket (compensator) and reducing by two tooth will do wonders for acceleration. It achieves this by increasing rear wheel torque by around 9%. The result is that at highway speeds engine speed will also increase by 9%, so at say 3,000rpm in top gear, your new rpms will be 3,270rpm.
IMHO this is perfectly acceptable and your bike will be fine. On my Dyna I went even more radical and changed from 25T to 21T - that bike flew! If you have any more questions, fire away!
