87 FLHTC - Want to keep original radio but...
I got this bike in 11/12 and want to keep using the original radio but it needs fixing. I like the idea of the bike remaining original as possible and I like being able to use the hand controls.
Does anyone know where I can get it repaired and if it is worth the hassle? I am also wondering about new options.

I have installed a newer radio within the '87 enclosure. Won't work with '88 and up. The door closes and with the Biketronics adapter you still have hand contolls.
Here is where I posted it.

They don't have the 1986-87 radio listed on their website for "Flat Fee" repairs, but if you call them, they should be able to help you.

Before you spend money on it , try just cleaning all the controls.
Use a can of contact cleaner or WD40 and canned air or compressed air if you have it.
Disconnect the battery , there is no need initially to tear down the switches yet.
Using the spray tube , direct the spray into the switches and let it sit for 5 mins. Then spray all again while cycling the switches until the runoff is clear . Then use the air to purge out the cleaner .
Reconnect the bat. and see what works and what dosent . Respray all components that still dont work . If you find apperant problems that cleaning dosent help with , dissassemble these components and check .
I was an auto. stereo installer for years and dirt is the enemy of most switches etc.

Dialed In
Just as a follow-up to this.
I went w/ an aftermarket Kenwood Marine - had the SeriusXM module added and just to get techy I had them put a Bluetooth transmitter in. It plugs into one of the 3 outputs in the back and sends a signal so my Bluetooth headset or speakers mounted in my helmet can pick it up. I can also turn off my speakers and just listen through the headset.
Jammin!!!
I appreciate all the help guys.
