If the stock seat is messed up is it just cosmetic?
You could take it and get it re upholstered.

I have a 95 Roadking that I fitted a 99 seat to. The tongue on the front of the seat has to be cut down at the point where it bends so that it will hook under the bracket on the tank. I have wrapped a small piece of rubber around the tongue so that the fit is snug. Hope this helps

It'll work, I had a 96 and the seat selections are nill for those bikes, all you have to do is trim the tab on the seat a bit to get it to fit under the tank tab, then use some 3/8 rubber hose over the end of the seat tab to tighten the fit. Chad

Just a final post on this subject. Not so ez. But i made it work. The seat was a 1997 + seat. Mustang solo with backrest and fender bib. I cut the tang and wrapped it with alum stock and tape. The problem is/was the rear mounts were way off. I thought i would just drill some holes but there is no way to reach under the fender, so i took some bar stock and formed to the fender, used 3m tape and a double nut mount, it is covered by the fender bib. Looks good, solid. Took a few hours to figure out, but now i can still use the 2 up seat when needed without a hassle. This seat sits me up and back a bit off the tank and is comfy, thanks for your help, just saying this is not an ez deal but it can be done. Almost done, yeh right...
