I had just the opposite result. Crane hi4 took a poop ultuma running strong....

Good breakdown of coils and explains how a speed or engine position sensor fails, my Ultima coil lost a cylinder at idle and came in at 1200 engine rpm's cold or hot, probable bad connection and higher voltage pushed past it so as heat usually causes electrical failures, sometimes can throw a curve at ya.

Funny thing is my buddies Ultima coil was installed at the same time as mine and still going, but still wouldn't buy one.
