So after a bit of trouble shooting I came to the conclusion that my new Ultima single fire coil went south. Its the coil that came with the programmable U;tima ingnition just new this spring. I replaced the single fire ignition with my old stock harley coil and set the ignition to dual fire and away she went.
What have you guys been ising for single fire coils that has been reliable?
i dont have any personal experiance with them but i did alot of research around the internet looking for one for myself and it seems the best reviews i could find for a single fire coil is made by crane. also i found the most complaints of failure about accel coils. i am planning on changing mine out with a crane as soon as i get $180 to buy it.... just my 2 cents. good luck
mine is a single fire, i have an compu fire single fire ign mod and obviously a single fire coil but i bought my bike with this already installed and the coil has no name or part number on it so im not sure who makes it. thus my want to swap it out with a crane and keep this one as a back up.
I think I will be settling on a Crane and I plan to mount it there abouts where the horn was. I also plan on leaving the dual fire mounted under the tank with wires connected with quick connects and plug wires shoved under the tank. Its a real pita getting to the coil which wouldn't be so bad if the tank didn't have to be drained and although I luv the simplicity of these Evos for any troubleshooting I prefer to think ahead.

Now that sounds like one hell of a well thought out plan, imho
