I have a 1994 and my K&N is round? My original AC cover is the stock round one. However I looked up the part number and it shows the one listed (hd-1390) fits your bike.

Maybe the difference is I have the screamin eagle backing plate?

Take a look at the cycle shack mufflers. Supposedly they made the screamin eagle mufflers for HD back then and maybe they still do?

Not sure if they have anything for your scoot but they look and sound like my original screamin eagles. Just bought a set this spring.

I have a set on my 1994 dyna and love them. Freer flowing, not too loud, but not quiet either. Definitely freer flowing. Looks just like the original screamin eagles that Moco sold except no stamped logo. They have the taper look, slash, bologna, and turn outs. I like the original looking tapered style.

If you go with the air cleaner and pipes, probably need a little re-jet of the carb, but with those mods and the cam, your bike will be a whole different animal. YD

Good information, thanks a lot. I'm almost afraid to touch this bike, changes. I bought it last week, 15,000 original miles, you pull the choke out, hit the starter, one crank and it fires and idles smooth as silk. I was surprised how well it runs.

Oh well, best thing is it is a Springer Softail with an Evo, cool as hell!

Yes, soon. The bike is only 15,000 miles, all original, but wheels are black with grease / dirt, paint is dull, dingy, few minor smudges, the guy did not abuse it but never washed it I think. So, I have been bringing it back to life, some wet sanding (3000 grit), polishing, etc. Takes a ton of time, but so far the parts I have done (Blue Sapphire) look very close to how it looked the day it came out of the factory.

How is the 3000 grit working out? I am afraid to try to make a couple very minor scratches disappear. My luck I would make them worse and very noticeable.
