Right on!! Thanks for the ingenuitive advice!! I consider myself a redneck engineer! Didn't have time to pull the rocker boxes today may get to it tomorrow.
Another question. How much more power, hp or tq, is gained from using oversized intake valves?

You'll get better results from a port job....to tune a H-D you make the exhaust port smaller and a different shape, rather than just bigger and flow the intake.....depends if you wanna go drag racing or not.

Gotcha. Is that where the d shaped chambering comes in? Shrinking the exhaust port ups compression correct? Here's my situation, I run with guys that ride hard and fast. One is pushing 107/106 and another 96/104 for example. I'm tired of being left lagging behind and having to down shift when they just twist the throttle. Part of who I am is taking something others scaaf at and making it better than what they have. In reality I know unless I drop serious dough I'm not pushing 107 out of an evo. But for what I payed for the bike + upgrades I'm still at less than the pay for their bike stock. And ill keep up with them... the company I'm talking to says that a lot of guys are going with the 1.94 intake valves to help build more low end tq. I'm looking for some thoughts on this I guess

Sorry, forgot to add that porting will be done even if valve size isn't upped.

D Port changes the speed of flow through the port, it doesn't affect compression which is swept volume over combustion chamber volume.

NOS SE Performance heads can be purchased on ebay, usually around 50% of the original cost.

Research the part numbers you need and you need to be aware of the variation in compression ratio's with different pistons. I simply type in the Harley Part Number and usually find several to choos from. If they offer Make an Offer, do and save more.

Here is my spreadsheet for my '03 Twin Cam if it helps.

Thank you! I'm looking at different piston styles and the compression they say they offer so the spreadsheet helps!
