FXRT Fairing Help
I am adding an FXRT fairing to my 86 fxr that has an 39mm front end on it
my prob is I am completely lost on how i get it on over the forks
I can remove them (i need to do the seals anyway) but I'm thinking there has to be a trick to it somehow,
So i have turned to you guys hoping someone knows how
thanks

Check on the FXR facebook page. I think you will find more help there.

I can only speak for the P fairing, which mounts the same, I believe. The bracket that flanks the headlight stays mounted to the fairing. All other brackets mount to the bike, and it slides on from the front with a pause to plug in the electrics (the reason it takes two people, or one determined Texan).
I'm kinda lost on the "getting it over the forks" part.

I have a 85 with a 35mm front end from a sporty. The fairing slides in from the front. Put front wheel between legs to keep things straight and crouch a little so the front of your legs support the fairing. Once the fairing is on the bracket tilt forward a little to attach headlight wire while keeping bolts handy to put through fairing and bracket. Just start threading bolts to hold in place and compete job. Taking off windshield helps alot. If you have a warm body around it surely makes things easier.

I approach the fxr with fairing in hand,....and as i try to get the mount to line up with the headlight the lowest part of the fairing hits the forks,...i try'd twisting turning,.. but its like a square peg & a round hole,....LOL
I have a lift so I can take the forks off, but it just doesn't seem like it's some thing harley would do.
Thanks Big
a.ka. one determined canadian....LOL
