Tappet screen and...?
Today I got the 97 Glide licensed and on the road, and seemingly working mostly correctly.
So far so good.
I cleaned the tappet screen when I changed the oil, and have ordered a set of hex head caps to replace those slotted ones.
There are 2 other caps one on the oil pump, and another just behind that.
Is there anything I need to watch for when I remove them to replace them, and is there anything that requires maintenance under those 2 caps?
Thanks.

One is a pressure relief valve that has a plunger & spring underneath, the other is a check valve that keeps the motor from wet-sumping and it has a spring & ball bearing underneath.
There is nothing really required, but you could pull them both with a magnet and inspect the springs and plunger/ball valves to make sure they are clean and in good order if you wanted to.
Just make sure to reinstall in the correct place and order.
