Another timing question....
I'm not too proud to be wrong, but please take another look at the first pic.. The bottom graphic with the two dots, doesn't it say '95 HDI(injected) and '96-98 Domestic??
Hahaha, you feel my pain??
Hmmm, I guess it must be then.. This isn't the engine from this bike.. All I really know is it came off an injected '98 RK.. I didn't make any changes tonight, just double checking things since it seemed to contradict your results.. Figure I'll roll with it with the double dots @35* and the VOES disconnected tomorrow, see how it runs.. I'm not expecting quite the results you got since its not built quite as hot, but It did run good last night.. I'll let you know either way.. Thanks for all the input guys..

I actually planned on riding it tomorrow anyhow, so I ran out of time to mess with it.. I may play with it this weekend to see what the one dot does. I couldn't imagine it being that far off, but maybe it is.. Its hard to conceive me having the only one that uses two dots..
if you want to get it perfect there are 2 ways to do it with that ignition.
first way is you have to use a dial back timing light. set it to 34* ground the voes and use curve 1 and use the TDC mark for timing. after its timed set the curve back to 2 or 3.
second way use usb adapter hook it up to the ignition. tach wire and voes wire. open curvemaker program set the curve 1 map to max out at 35* save and reboot the ignition. now set ignition to curve 1 ground the voes and use a regular timing light and time it to the one dot mark 35* after its timed put it back on curve 2 or 3
if all your doing is static timing it will be off about 10*-15*. static timing is just to get you close so you can start the bike. you can run the bike there and it will run cooler and have less ping and it will start easier when hot. but fuel mileage and power will suffer.
