Default SE Cam for 2007 FLHRC TC96

Im looking to knock down the heat another notch. I have already done the Fullsac TD conversion, SE/AC, and PCIII. IM now looking to install a set of cams. I know Andrews would be the way to go but I want to retain my warranty. Im thinking of either SE203 or SE204. Any comments?

Actually, Head-Quarters or R&R is the way to go! and If if you going to pay someone to install it, do it right the first time.
most of these dealers wont even notice what cams are in your bike,I mean half the time they dontevencomplete the full service yourpaying 1000$ for!
Or, they will blow you out because you installed aftermarket saddlebags!

A guy in the local HOG chapter with an 07 Ultra said he got major heat reduction switching cams, more so than any of the other changes. He didn't have specs, but he mentioned it's not just the lift & duration, but the actual valve timing is retarded in the 96's. More EPA junk. Run's cleaner (& hotter) that way. GM did the same with the late generation 454's. The valve timing was retarded 4 deg. You got a good bump in perf just switching to a good TRW chain and gear set. And yes . . . It would still pass smog.

I think HD is just skating by the regs the way they are. What happens when they get tighter in 2010?

We use R&R and Andrews cams in our builds because Reggie is a beta tester and can talk cams on the same level as John Andrews. Many Harley dealers now get and use the R&R cnc ported heads and use there cams because the results are better than their SE products. I would recommend the RR525 cam for little or no head work, this will turn it into a torque bike. These are gear drive cams, if you want to stick with chain drive we will have the Andrews54 in 7 to 10 days. Hope this helps.

zzmelio: As far as the 2-year MOCO warranty is concerned, there is no difference whether you install HD or aftermarket cams. HD cams installed prior to delivery of a new bike won't effect the warranty, and there are some engine packages that, if installed by an HD dealer, won't disturb the warranty.
But a cam swap post-delivery is going to impact the warranty in the remote event there is a serious engine problem post-installation caused by the cams/installation regardless of the cams you choose.
