Which one of these cams do you think will perform the best for an:
88"2005 Ultra with SE air filter kit, SERT, and SE discontinued slipons?
Being a heavy weight bike, I want more low end torque.

A better approach (IMO)would probably be to change the primary gearing from 3:15:1 to 3.37:1 that was stock with the EFI baggers from '99-'01; simple parts swap of compensating sprocket and clutch sprocket; parts cost of $450 list from HD and a lot less labor, of course, than a cams swap.

You can do a search for "3.37:1" and see numerous posts. The change doesn't require recalibration of the speedo, and raises rpms only about 200 at 70-80 mph.

 

Do you plan any further upgrades in the future?? The 204 cam in my opinion is a better cam. If will wrok well with the 88 inch and allow you to add a big bore kit and increase compression. The 204 is a nice little cam. The gear dwon change is a great option as well. What are the reasons for doing the cam swap??

 

You have the same set up as my 06 RK.

I went with the SE204 and got a good tune with my SERT. It made a huge difference in the feel of my bike for low and midtorque pulling. No more issues with 2 up power gear changes, just roll the throttle and your gone.

What the HPingman is suggesting is a good idea as well. He has a little different cam set up that you may want to ask him about.

The 204 is basically the same grind as the Andrews 37B with a 4 degree advance..
It's a great mid range cam that moves the power to the upper part of the RPM range.
I have one in my Train and love it, however it's not a bagger cam IMO.
It's a light bike cam. I would go with the 203, or better yet, the Andrews 26B or G.

 

I had a 05 FLHTCI with 95" and 203 cams, it was better than stock but still not much to cheer about. Last year my dad and I both had builds done on our 06 Ultra's. Both bikes had the same air filters and exhaust right down to the mufflers. I went 95" stock heads and TW37 cams and my dad went 95" stock heads and 204 cams. His bike would spank mine on the bottem end with no sweat. Comparing his 06 Ultra to my 05 Classic which also had the same air cleaner and exhaust as he has on his Ultra only difference is 203 cams vs 204 cams I have to say the 204 cams are better. I'm pretty sure that his Ultra with the 204 cams would have spanked the 05 with 203 cams right at the start,it just pulles better.

 

See post 4 and 5. You should supply more information like riding style total weight and as much information about your expectations to give a more clear idea of what you need,

had a long chat with the OP... he and I are about same same as far as weight and style and is on track with your suggestion. I think he went with the 204's.
