Andrews 37G Cam Review
Well here's my review of the Andrews 37G vs. the SE203 cams.
Seat of the pants feels like a tad more power. Not a big difference, but a little. The thing I notice most is the smoothness of the power band. 3rd gear seems a little weaker than 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th. I'm not sure why that would be, but it is. 3rd just doesn't seem to come on as strong.
The "whirring" noise that I heard folks say you get with the gear drive, is barely noticeable. Not even worth mentioning really!
Was it worth the money? Well, I guess so. I honestly was hoping for a more noticeable difference.
I'm left now with doing the heads if I want more. And I do have concerns of longevity if I do the heads. Not to mention the $$$.
If anyone has any suggestions, please post em'! I'm open to ideas.
(This is posted in another thread, but I think this is the better place for it)

RE: Andrews 37G Cam Review
SE203 cams are almost identical to the 37g cams in profile. Of course your not going to notice much difference. 37g's will have an edge though with headwork since the cams profile allows the exhaust valve to breath better, and you normally need to have mild portwork done to take advantage of this.

RE: Andrews 37G Cam Review
From what I am understanding, the 37G needs almost 10:1 compression to work properly.
The cam looks plenty different from the 203 to me, most notibly the closing of the intake valve being 6 degrees later, and the opening being 4 degrees sooner.. That could explain why more than stock compression is needed to gain the full use of the 37 cam.
I am certainly no expert, but I am trying to get my build right, and sift through the mountain of opinions and BS out there just like you. This cam stuff is very tricky, and the opinions are even harder to get good info from. It's about the math.
Your best, next move is to bump compression up, and your problems will be solved.
Personally, I am looking at the Andrews 26 vs. the SE 204. I would do the 37G, but I'm going to run stock compression and stock 06' heads.
Both are pretty close, with the Andrews more suited for what I want to do.
I could care less about the whine of gear drives. Actually, it sounds cool..

RE: Andrews 37G Cam Review
You did not mention your comp ratio but if you have a basic 95 kit you a re a bit low to use a 37 a 26 would work better for your current setup. However not all is lost to get the gains you need minor head porting and the install of a 30 thou gasket would net you 9.4.1 to 9.5 depending on cc volume of your current head. The 37 work best at 9.7-9.8 much more than that and you are pushing the level for pump gas. SOme place have beeter fuel and higher octane here in az we only have 91 for premium fuel.
