07&08 crankshafts
On 06/02/08 at 9:52 in the touring section in this forum someone told why harley came out with the IDS systems.
It has something to do with the crankshafts and people lugging the engines and harley \\;covering their rear ends and the six speed transmissions.
 \\; Now I am concerned with how long \\;will my \\;stock \\;crank \\;
hold up under the load of the \\;103 build that \\;I had done on my
07 road king,that \\;I'm sure voided the factory warranty \\; \\; \\;

RE: 07&08 crankshafts
Once you go beyond 103/107ci it is really good insurance to have the crank worked and pinned. \\; Up to that point, it is still a crapshoot as to whether the crank will survive. \\; Most do but there have been some failures due to scizzoring. \\; HD claims it is more from downshifting than upshifting. \\; I took mine to 103 last year and rode it 10k miles without problems, but when going to 120, I really put more money in the crank and bottom end than anything else.
