What did I screw up? Just changed rocker gaskets on my 1340 evo
I just changed the rocker gaskets on my 96 FXSTC, it already had adj push rods, I also changed the push rod gaskets. I fired it up, runs great, after letting it warm up , went for a ride, oil leaking heavily from top of push rods both sides. I can see maybe one push rod cover leaking but not both sides. I had to shut her down, I inspected the upper orings and they were fine. Could there be a problem with the black valves I replaced in the middle cover? \\; I don't know what elso it could be, I used a quality gasket set, no other leaks. Any help appreciated.[>:]

Did you just change the upper gasket, or both upper and Lower???
 \\;\\\\\\;
If you changed the lower, did you verify the orientation of the gasket..... Front on front and Rear on rear.....
 \\;\\\\\\;
Are the pushrod tubes bottommed out correctly into the o-rings in the heads????
 \\;
Also... Please take a moment and introduce yourself in the NEW MEMBERS SECTION at your earliest.....

Shovelhead Bob, I think you nailed it, my DA didn't even look closely at the gaskets, I bet they are on backwards causing \\; blowby at the top of the pushrods. Thanks so much for your help, I'm going to go kick my *** for a minute and then beg the wife for more time to fix it. BTW, I did a little intro in the new mwmber section. Thanks a lot, Jaybird

Follow up. \\; I did put the gaskets on correctly the first time, in fact, after looking at them, you would have to be more than a complete moron to put them on backwards. I didn't have the push rods adjusted correctly, BTW, if anyone lives in central Illinois (Champaign), check out Midstate cycles for quality, friendly service/parts.
