Thoughts on Screamin' Eagle Build
I know there is a wide variety of opinion and ideas when it comes to engine builds. I specifically chose the route of doing an SE build. Just getting back from my first significant road trip since the build of 1000+ miles in 4 days loaded down and 2-up with the wife I observe a few things.
First, the SE cams seem to produce a power and torque curve that is similar shape to stock. What I mean by this is that shift point, power bands, etc. all "feel" similar to stock but with substantial power increase across the band.
Secondly, overall engine feel and sound behaves similar to stock.
With that said, this may not be what people look for in a build, but looking at overall readability and that traditional predictable Harley feel is something that I find very comforting. I love the 100+ hp/tq though really appreciate the areas where my build mellows out for putting through town (1800-2000 RPM) and the area it settles into for highway cruise (2500-3000 RPM). I can drop a gear or two (3500+ RPM) and have all of the power I need up to redline.
I just thought I'd post some observations and impressions now that I have the first sport/touring trip completed with the bike.

RE: Thoughts on Screamin' Eagle Build
I have an HQ 95 that behaves pretty much the same way, I have noticed that when around HDs with SE cams like the 203,204 or 211s my bike sounds radicaly different and has a Pro-stock racer sound instead of potato, potato!

and very aggressive in the lower gears and snappy thottle responce with realy fat torque from 2200 on up.

The .575 cams I have would give you 8-10 more lbs of cylinder presure over the SE 251, that would give you around 110 to 115 lbs of torque!
