Noise Pollution...
I was wondering if you guys in the States have anything like these rules on exhaust pipes..

Most places here haven't gotten that "nanny-ized" yet. It's coming, though. Freakin' politicians, and worse than them, unelected "regulators", have to keep coming up with new nanny laws and regulations for a couple reasons; job justification and sheeple control.
Sheet...d*mn. That's some serious beaurocracy (and coin). I only know that when they sold me my SEII slip-ons, they had to explain to me that the symvol in the SE catalogue meant that they were illegal. My response was, "Well, there are lots of bikes around with louder pipes. They aren't getting ticketed, are they?" They said only if they were really being obnoxious about it in a quiet residential neighborhood...i.e., the neighbors were complaining.
BTW, I was watching a re-run of American Chopperss last night. The one where they went to Bike Week. Got pulled over by the police. Too loud, no license plates, riding at night w/ sunglasses on and the list kept going. Paul Sr. said that the the cop finally said that the list was so long, he;d be there all night writing them up , so just the bikes home and park them and he wouldn't write them up.
Wondered if it was all staged for TV.
I sure hope that I'll be alright. I can't afford a Harley and tickets!

Locally, there are ordinance's in place to control loud music, exhaust and most recently Lights? It is however enforced on complaints and a LEO's disscretion

We have decibel limitations, however since most cops dont have meters it comes down to individual discretion. Certain cities are known for ****ing w/bikers, I just dont go there.
Thanks guys, you all share the same views as me. I can't believe it has come to this.
Why I asked the question, most of our politions see or hear an idea that is working or sounds good in the States or any other country and try it here later.....but as pococj said, keeping them in a job seems to be their main reasoning for such a stupid f#@king law.
