Default true duals pros and cons...

I have a question about true duals (I did search), what are the pros and cons of getting them. I know about the heat and the better flow, but what is the down side. Also has anyone dealt with this company, Fullsac Performance. They will take your stock exhaust and replace the baffles for a better sound. Plus they do not look too pricey. They also have a true dual set. I do want to get better exhaust in the future but do not have that kind of money at this point. Thanks for the help.

Is there another economical exhaust system out there that will not have to have the engine remapped or a race tuner. I thought I read on Reinharts site that if you go with a certain baffle diameter no remapped needed. Hey, I’m a cop, I can soot, eat doughnuts, and harass people, not real good with the mechanical stuff.

Don't know much about the duals pro's and con's,i'm still on the fence about adding them to my 06 Street glide, but I do have the fulsac pipes and they sound great, not too loud not too quiet, pretty much right on the money, great mod for the price plus I really like the look of the stock pipes.

The pro's of true duals are: they sound great; they reduce the heat the passenger feels; they make maintenance easier because you can remove part of the exhaust system without having to take off the whole thing.
The con's are, all things being equal, that properly tuned true duals will always produce slightly less power than properly tuned pipes with a cross-over. The reason is that scavenging is reduced because the lack of a cross-over changes the harmonic reasonance of the pipes which affects the pulse wave. I know there are people who will swear that true duals increased their power, but I attribute this mostly to the fact that they sound so good.

I have the Fulsac duals and love them! Well let me restate that. I have the head pipe. Then went to this guys mufflers E&B after doing a little research. He has a 100% money back guarantee and he ain't getting back his mufflers from me. I love the sound. Nice and deep rummble. Don't know about his head pipe but I would guess at least as good as Fulsacs. All you need to do is get a DFO to dial it in and your set. No more heat and the sound is awesome! Bike feels perkier too. There is NO down side to doing this mod.

Did you install them yourself? What was the installation time and difficulty?

I think the hardest part was opening the box...Really, if you can use tools this is a no brainer. Took me maybe 3 hours but that was with cleaning up places that you can't get to with the pipes on and making sure everything lined up. I do have a bike lift and that made it easier. The directions are a hoot! The guy should have been a stand up comic or something. But they are clear and don't leave you hanging. I still smile every time I hear the "stereo" sound of the pipes.
Just do it!
