Hello All, I am new to this site, A friend told me about it after I told him my problem. Hope u can all help me. I have a 1991 Heritage Softail, had it from new. The motor was rebuild a while back with S&S heads, Cam, Screamin Eagle ECM single fire Ignition. Nothing too crazy, just pep it up a bit from stock. I was being an idiot the other night and took off like a bat out of hell from a bike night. Now I have a clunking noise at idle. It only seems to be there at idle. I was able to drive the bike home about 30 miles. It didnt get any worse and when I was running at RPMs higher than idle the noise want noticable and the bike seems to run as normal. I was thinking I may have bent a push rod or at least hoping thats all it was. Can anyone out there shed some light and give me some pointer on trouble shooting this.

Where is the noise coming from? If you can't tell, take a long screwdriver or a wrench and use it as a stethiscope.

Yeah, be my first thought too. I managed to bend all 4 of mine once doing something similar. Good thing I had a nice set of bolt cutters.
