Anyone ever try using 500 degree Gloss Black engine enamel on mufflers or exhaust heat shields? I don't think the heat shield thing would be a problem but I don't know just how hot a muffler surface gets. The biggest problem area would probably be the entry part of the muffler core where most of the heat is deposited. Just wondered if anyone tried this before.
Is it Gloss black paint, not the header wrap silicon coating DEI makes?? I've used their coating on header wraps but that probably would chalk like crazy. Lots of matte black sparay paint out there, I wanna go gloss.
I've used the high heat wrinkle as well as Harley's Texture paint they use on the motor. Problem with both of them is they are hard to clean because of the rough surface. The gloss colors are much easier to clean.
