black heat shield paint chipping?

Default black heat shield paint chipping?
anybody have this issue? i have the black heat shields, and the screamin eagle black mufflers and slip ons, and the muffler shields. the point where the muffler shields meet the shields, the paint is chipping or rubbing right off. i haven't even put 100 miles on them yet. I put them on very carefully as to not scratch them, but I don't know if it's the vibration or what, but it's tearing it up. anybody have this, seen it, or care to comment on it?

Need 2 know...were these already black fm factory, or did you/someone paint them...??

OK...then I'd go back to where you got them & see if they'll fix/replace. Gotta be poor coating job b/c they didn't prep the metal properly.

adjust your pipes heat sheilds so they arent rubbing on the muffllers... if they are making contact and rubbing the will wear the coating off..

Do you just end up leaving a tiny gap between them? Thanks for all the responses thus far. I am going to take a pic Sunday night. Pouring outside now, don't want to be running in and out in that crap!

fixed it... thanks for the responses. I didn't understand the fact they were to close to the shields until I looked and well.. yeah duh. ended up getting them powdercoated to fix the issue..which looked great, until I had another problem. but that is another post for another time.
