Default oil pressure sensor size?

Two quick questions if you know... I picked up this motor and I'm slowly rebuilding...
1) Hole #1 on the pic (oil pressure sensor???) What is the size of the threads on this supposed to be? I don't have the old sensor and it looks like someone tried to just plug it with a bolt (which I also intend on doing.) but it looks like it's been cross threaded and is cracked for about half of the thread length. I'd like to tap it out to the correct thread size and plug it without buying a $50 sensor. Any help on correct size?

2) Hole #2 is the oil vent line? It was plugged with a Zerks (<- is that the right word?) fitting when I got the engine... don't know if you should run it like that? but I have the correct vent nipple and was planning on it being hooked up to the vent line but now I'm just curious if it's OK to run just plugged up???

So for the pressure switch hole it is a straight 3/8-24.
as for the vent line being plugged I've never tried running one plugged but I would think it needs to be vented to the oil tanke to maintain pressure in the cases.

Pressure switch is kinda important. $30 at 45 Restoration.

Bigger problem is the crack. Thinking the cover needs to come off for a proper repair.
How bad are the threads?
- JB weld is a possibility
- Tig repair is probably best. Gotta be someone with genius tig skill on aluminum.

I missed the crack in the cover, I would repair it and have it re-machined it is possible and not to hard to do with the right tools and setup.
