iPhone photo uploads
Help. I am new to computers and don't know how to upload photos for my avitar-profile-or albums. I could really use some input on how to upload photos from the iPhone since I don't even own a computer. I've gotten the required 5 days 5 posts but when I try to choose upload from compuer on the user control panel the button won't click or whatever you call it. Sorry for being so stupid, and thanks in advance
Uploading a photo is pretty easy if you follow a couple of simple steps.
First if you are trying to use pics from your phone, after your phone is connected by USB to your computer, you should get a pop up menu asking what you would like to do now that your computer has recognized the device. This may not happen if your computer is already set to always take a certain action with that device.
a. If the pop up menu does appear then the easiest thing is to choose open file folder and then once you see a new file location menu you can keep clicking on the file folders until you reach the directory with the pictures in it.
b. If the pop menu doesn't appear you will need to use your computers main menu bar, open the link on the menu bar that says computer so it will list all the devices and drives connected to your computer. You should then see your device listed as one of the available directories.
Then simply click on the device link and you should get the file folder located on your device and keep clicking it to get to the next level of directory until you see the pictures stored on the phone. Then simply drag those pictures from the file folder created on your phone to a folder for pictures or your desktop and then you can access them from your computer for editing or uploading later.
Now that they have been downloaded to your computer you can use the forum picture upload tool to choose a file to upload. It will trigger a pop menu asking what file you want to upload and you then use either the top or side menu bar (depends on which directory your trying to open) in that window to navigate to the directory such as desktop or pictures and once you see thee file you want available in the main part of that open menu window you can select it, click open, and the file name should appear on the upload tool window. Once it appears you can then click on upload and it should do that. You will know it has uploaded once it the file appears on the lower portion of the upload window and no longer appears in the open bar next to the upload button.
Generally when I get pics from my iPhone I open them using the windows paint program and open the top menu bar and find the resize tool. I resize them to 30% which shrinks them down enough so that I don't have any issues with file size being too large for uploading onto a forum and they are small enough that if your uploading to a forum with a automatic resize function they wont appear as freakishly large pictures taking up the entire screen and more.
Hope that explains it easy enough for you, sounds complicated but once you have done it several times its really quite easy. There are more ways to do the same thing but I thought that would be the simplest. Is for me anyways lol.

I appreciate the heads up, without your input I wouldn't have even the slightest idea what to do. It didn't go the way you described, but using your input put me and my friend on the right track! Kudos to you !!! From one cav troop to another. 3rd squadron 8th cav 80 to 83!!!
