There's a sticky posted above this section that explains about sending PM's and the answer is also in this thread. You have to be here 5 days and have 5 posts before you can PM.

 

As the subject says, how many do I need to send before I can send a private message?

I think I've satisfied the requirements to have PM access (been a member for 6 days, posted 11 times and verified my email address) yet I still can't view, or respond to PM's, even though I have a few of them from other members.

Can someone tell me if there's something else required of me to have PM access?

You have to be a member for 5 full days. Today is your 5th day. You should be good tomorrow.

 

I'm new to the forum and have found a thread regarding armrests. I'm trying to PM the member to see if he still has them but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. The instructions say that it should be somewhere in my profile but so far all I find is the ability to read PMs. Has my cataract surgery failed or am I just too old to figure this out?

When you joined did you take the time to read the rules as you were asked to do? It's clearly stated there that you need to have 5 posts and be a member for 5 days before PMs are activated. You did read them, right? They are also posted in this section. (hint, hint)
