Default Polished Aluminum Rear Wheel

Hey there folks,
Just picked up my new Softail Std on Saturday. It's an 07 with the wheel option. The dealership didn't do a very good job of cleaning up te bike before I picked it up, and I've noticed some marks on the polished aluminum rear wheel that are very hard to get off. The almost look like overspray. My question is what do you use to clean the wheel? The shop recommended Semi-Chrome polish, but I wasn't sure if the wheel has a clearcoat applied and if the polish would damage it. Three different people at the shop basically told me three different things. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Default RE: Polished Aluminum Rear Wheel

When I picked up my 07 FXSTC, later I noticed what looked like some small scratches on the rear wheel, I showed them and got the same answer(polish them out).. I then checked other new bikes on the floor and they all had the same marks to varying degrees. I used some polish I use on my big truck(Kenworth) and got most but all of them out. There is no clear coat on mine, I belive HD does not clear coat their polished aluminum wheels. Good Luck

Thanks Man,
I think I will try the Semi-Chrome polish. I put it on a small test area and it semed to work pretty good. I'm a little dissapointed that they would sell a bike with the wheels looking like that, but I still lovethe bike!
