But for 17 bucks it got the job done.

One thing to note is that that if it gets the job done, it's OK. The problem is when it is isn't.. . IMO there is 4 levels of screw removal, stud flush. There are other methods but IMO there are the most common for flush breakoffs.

1. easy, pin punch. 2. reverse drill 3. tapered easyout (yours). 4. Rigid / spline.

I've removed a few of those broken reverse spiral extractors. The problem with them is that they expand and lock the screw in place if the screw is stuck well, then with too much pressure, snap off.

What are those items in #4 and how would you use them?
I didn't need anything other then drill, reverse bit and extractor.

Not sure what yo mean by 2 things.

You use them the same as the tapered extractor. I sometimes drill the hole all the way through the bolt so you I get more bite if needed. It depends on how stuck the screw is.

Don't know which snap-on set the guy is referring to but the the set I show above is pretty much the same..

It's due to a traumatic experience with broken tapered easy-outs.. I've had a few but none done by me.. Only the repair.. The last one was a broken easy-out in a CRF450R swing arm, the chain side tensioner. It took about 2 hours to get it out and make the repair. Broke one carbide drill bit, and wore out 2 small cylindrical grinding stones..

That's exactly what I meant!
It was actually fun in a strange way.......
Maybe not so much if it was a critical motor part though.
