Default Need a little help

Day before yesterday, I stumbled across a post for a FXR2 in arresting red w/32k miles for 10.5k. Only issue is a dent on the tank. Not bad, but there. I wrote the seller and said nicely his price was way high, and I might be willing to pay 8k. He accepted. Then I started thinking about it and decided I was going to wait for a green flame FXR3. So I let him know. Apparently he was pretty desperate for money so he said he’d take less. Since I saw another ‘99 in red w/similar miles for 6k on Facebook marketplace, I offered him 6600 figuring I’d get rejected and countered, but he accepted

So yesterday, I took it home.

Now for the help: Surdyke said the service manual was available, but with a 6-8 week lead. So since I need to change fluids before I ride this, can anyone please tell me fluid capacities? I remember the oil drain procedure - a plugged hose under the left cover, but how much oil is used to fill the primary and transmission? And are the drain plugs obvious? Thanks!

Here she is:

Gotta find a Thunderstar. I hate spokes…

What kind of turn out mufflers are those? I had some Drag Spec. on a Yamaha 650 vertical twin, you could count the rpm by listening to the exhaust. The other two bikes are going to be jealous. Good looking FXR.

They’re SE slip ons. Not sure of the exact model.

That`s a good looking scoot but I thought you got rid of your previous FXR because it was not being ridden enough? I know if I had three bikes I would be a basket case on which one to ride, plus I don`t have enough time to ride as much as I would like to. If I do get a second bike it will be and dual purpose type. Have you ever thought about going that route?

You are partially correct. I was living in a NY condo and had very limited parking options. At the time I lost one of my rented parking spots (1 of 2 additional I was paying 150/mo for each, I’m addition to the one that came with my apartment). One of the spots became unavailable so I had to make the hard choice. One bike had to go and since the FXR was the least ridden, it got the chop. And as I’ve said many times, I regretted it since.

Now I’m in a house and have all the parking I need! So there you go.
