Default oil and primary fluids

First off, I searched for an answer but only came upon more posts like mine so I wanna ask and start yet another one on these threads.

I am looking to change my oil on my 08FLHX and I know I shouldnt, nor do I want to wait, too long. I have 300 miles or her now and Im thinking about changing it at 500 to clear out all the metal that may have came about during break in.
Question#1 Should I change the primary fluid also??
#2 is there anything else I should change?

I need to order a service manual since Im good with my hands and dont feel like shelling out to the dealer every oil change. I had a 1200N for the last 2 summers and those things are easy as pie to work on so I use to change the oil and primary every 2500 miles but the S/G is a little more intimidating and I dont wanna mess anything up haha. I know there is oil and primary fluids but Im guessing there is also tranny fluid since the tranny is separate from the rest of the motor unlike my sporty, am I correct? and when should I change that? I know my questions will be answered when my manual arrives but I wanna swap all fluids that need to be swapped due to break in soon.

They are NO sweat. But no need to change oil till 1,000 miles. The inside end of the oil plug is magnetized. Check for filings. You will find very few if any. Do NOT over tighten.
Primary and tranny are very easy, too.
Also make sure you replace rubber washer on Motor drain plug every tme

thanks but should I replace all the fluids at 1000 miles? Im sure the manual will tell me how to change everything and Im not really worried about the process, its when I should do the first change of the fluids that Ill bet the manual leaves out.

AT 1,000 miles change the oil, primary, and transmission fluids.&nbsp\\; There are also a few other service checks to do that are in the service manual.

Do it, early, and often.&nbsp\\; Can't get this to post, but you're smart to do it now. And again at 1000, then start your regular 2500,3000.&nbsp\\; Best thing for your scoot.

Sooner the better for the change. Did you not get the manual with the bike, as all info is in there.

All the oil change info is in your OWNERS MANUAL also. I suggest reading it completely. It is packed full of good info about your scoot !!![sm=goodidea.gif]
