Headlights
Actually the jury isnt out about that because they are far more visible than regular lights. Ive had my girlfriend pass me in the opposite direction and had her sit at side streets and she said the headlight is bright as hell....almost blinding. Also have you ever passed another motorcycle that is running them? All I can say is WOW!
Straight on they are fine. From certain angles to the side, it looks like it is turned off. It is a fact.
That being said, I am extremely happy with them.
I am not talking at night. I am talking in the daytime. I observed my own bike and know what I see without a jury telling me.

On my RKC I installed the Truck Lite and left the aux lamps alone. The increased light from the headlight is impressive and makes driving at night a lot easier. The aux lights are very visible in the day light. They don't match but I don't care. About $165 shipped off of ebay for the head light.
I ride at night all the time, had LED's on the Softail, wasn't impressed enough to put 'em on the Road King. Went with Harley's Dual Halogen main light and 37 watt halogen bulbs in the auxiliaries. Plenty of light, very little cash outlay. If you want to live very long night riding in heavy wildlife populated areas, drop your speed 15 mph. Lights aren't going to save you.
I work nights. So I do quite abit of night riding. I upgraded to the daymaker headlight and it worked very well but I could not see the ditches as well as I wanted so I added black passing lap buckets and daymaker bulbs. I am very happy with my forword lighting. Yes it was expensive but. Not being able to see a deer will be far more expensive.
Daymaker. The previous owner of my 1200C put it on and it's a game changer. My red bike has the halogen bulb and it's poor at best. You can get it 20% off on Surdyke with free shipping. Or you can wait until one pops up on the sales forum here.
Replace the the bulbs in the passing lights with 37.5 watt 896 bulbs. The headlight bulb canbe swapped out for an Osram 65/70 watt or a Phillips extreme vision, also check out the Osram night breaker bulbs from candlepower.com

Here is a detailed review of the Trucklite Phase 6 (earlier version of Phase 7) and the JW Speaker (same as HD Daymaker) 7" lights If you scroll down to the discussion of daytime visibility, the authors makes it pretty clear that lack of daytime visibility (i.e., being seen by oncoming traffic) is the big downside to the JW Speaker/HD Daymaker LED light.

That is simply not true. Daymakers are notorious for being less bright than standard halogens during the daylight.

Would agree with the original daymakers. I was pulled over because the cop thought I was running without lights as he was off to the side. I think the new models have another projector that points more to the side to have more light visible to the side. Anyway, I went with the trucklite when I switched to a 7' bucket and am happy.

I belong to Jeepforum and lighting is a huge topic there. The 7" light that works in jeeps is the same 7" light that works on my bike.
