I don't normally ride at night but occasionally have no choice. So on the way home from a road trip I ended up with a couple of hours in the dark. I was nothing short of disgusted at the stock lighting on my 2013 Eglide. I may as well strap a flashlight to the handlebars.
So for those of you who have improved the lighting on their bikes, what was it you did? Can I just opt for different bulbs? (I'm not interested in the Daymaker setup. It will set me back over a $Grand$ here for the headlights and spotlights.)
If there is anyway you can get the daymakers do it by all means. They are totally awesome and not only at night but in the daytime also so cars can see you better. Your safety is worth a grand easy! I will never have anything but daymakers again.
Buddy just switched over to Daymakers on his RGU and it didn't cost anywhere near a grand. That seems excessive. I'd shop around some more. They really are the best.
Those are phase 7 truck-lite lamps. Same ones as the kuryakans just different packaging. I run a day maker in my dyna but if we made phase 7's in my size I would be running them.
I had to get a Daymaker, since Truck Lite doesn't offer a 5" light. When my stock light burnt out after 1 year, my wife suggested that I get the Daymaker for my birthday.
I "try" not to ride at night anymore, but I have the Daymaker on, and it DOES make a ton of difference. Much more visibility. Dang, I wish these had been around 20+ years ago in my bar hopping days.
The jury is still out though on how much better the cagers can see you in the daytime though...

Excellent company and fast free shipping. I bought from them on eBay.
I recently installed the truck lites (headlight and two auxiliaries). The headlight stuck out a lot and looked like crap so I installed the frenched trim ring on it and got matching trim rings for the auxiliary lights and turn signals. The results are excellent.
The main thing I was puzzled by was my stock headlight was adjusted fine but with the truck lite, I had to lower the aim significantly. When I first tried them without adjusting I was illuminating tree tops and portions of the road very far away.

Actually the jury isnt out about that because they are far more visible than regular lights. Ive had my girlfriend pass me in the opposite direction and had her sit at side streets and she said the headlight is bright as hell....almost blinding. Also have you ever passed another motorcycle that is running them? All I can say is WOW!
