No he's an almost 60 yo with years of riding who should have known better. His bike is a 14 SG he's had it a year.

I'm glad the person who went down is alive. At the risk of getting lambasted here, maybe he deserves some of the pain he is feeling in recuperation, as a behavior modification for the future; maybe he learned a lesson. Just be glad he didn't take anyone else out, lest he be facing some criminal charges and/or civil liability and maybe ruined other lives as well.
This whole story is an example of why I refuse to do group rides. I used to enjoy them - the comradery, the waves of onlookers and other drivers, police escorts through stop signs and red lights - all fun stuff, right? But after the second time some idiot almost put me in the ditch, I'd had enough. These days, rather than do charity rides, I just write a check to charities I support and go for a ride with a buddy or by myself. For those of you that still do group rides, keep your head on a swivel and be safe.

Glad everyone else is ok. He's lucky he didn't get hurt alot worse and, take out other riders. After he heals up, he needs his *** kicked.

you refer to the crash as a "accident"
I disagree..totally his fault, hope he recovers , and maybe think about it .

Me either. Besides the safety concerns, everyone always has an opinion on where to go, where to stop for gas, where to stop for food, half the day is spent deciding stuff. I like to point my bike in a direction and go. Sometimes the route changes by the time I get to the stop sign at the end of the road.
Stupid should be painful. Pain, misery, and agony can be one of life's greatest teachers.

You're right, it was no accident, a self inflicted crash. It was not pretty to witness and I'm still upset and also angry about it.
