I like the concept and all the other cool things mentioned about group rides, but they scare the crap out if me which is why I don't do them.

My group rides consist of a group of two. Me on my Heritage and my dad on his Road King. We know each other's habits and expectations plus use hand signals. We have similar riding styles and like many of the same things.

OH yeah... reactive it not the best thing to be or do if you want to stay alive.

Too many Smart A$$holes out there I won't ride with.....

its likes Politics..The usually don't fix anything till it breaks.....

Too may young riders that think like a 5yr old is why I don't ride with just anybody..

Yeah.. I am an OLD White haired dude.. BuTTTT I've ridden for 49 yr and I've never had to be taken to the Hospital or had a serious accident...

Like they say about old Deers and Elks,,, they don't get old because they are DUMB/////

I'll only ride with people who have common Sense. and if I see a stupid action,,, I'll leave the pack-- friends or not ----- Just me---.

I agree. I actually love riding in a group (the right group).

The OP said this was their usual group. You didn't know about this jack wad?

Would I be rude to ask if that was the accident on the street into Chester's HD for the Abate party yesterday? I rode in the morning with the ladies from Chester's up to Deerfield, had lunch and rode back. However, we came in from Sawgrass Expressway/Sunrise Boulevard.

DH met me there to ride home, and we were advised that the road was closed due to a crash. If that was your group, sorry for your ruined day. We are glad to hear your friend didn't die.

Yep Carolyn we were stuck there from 11.30 to 2.30, we came over to Chesters to get something to drink and use the facilities. It sure was a ruined day.

Group riding is not what caused this accident.

Heck, had he been out riding by himself ad did this he would have crashed so you could actually say had he not been group riding there would have been no one around to help him after the crash.

Group riding - not for me. Too much to look out for in regular traffic without a bunch of bike riders of unknown experience and temperament.

Well, yes and no.

Yes, it was just the one jerk that caused the accident, not the "group".

However, when you're in a group, and you don't necessarily know who the jerk is, you can't make sure you're not near him/her, when they start to do their jerk thing.
