Baffles for V&H Big Radius
I just installed the V&H Big Radius 2-2 on my wide glide. Love the look, but wish the sound was a little throatier. It gets kinda raspy on decel and in between gears. I was wondering what baffles might help this out some. I've heard of the Big City Thunder Monster baffles but haven't really seen any others. Anybody got some advice?

Remove the baffles completely and install some DK Custom Thunder Torque Inserts. I ran the Big Radius for a time and the TTI's made a difference in the bright rasp the BR's have, the tone was much deeper and the rasp was not noticeable at all. I'm running the TTI's right now in V&H Big Shots Staggered with no baffles and they sound nice, much better than with the stock baffles, a nice deep tone...

• Remove the original baffles
• Install Big Thunder City Quiet Baffles
• Cut the original baffles [hint: jam a broomstick in the baffle while cutting it in a vise with a hacksaw to keep it from deforming while cutting] to fit in behind the Quiet Baffles so the hole lines up with the pre-drilled hole already in the exhaust pipes, about 3 inches in from the end. I think it was about a 6" length but it was years ago... Setting those screws is a bear.
• It has as much effect on giving a lower note to the sound as reducing the decibels. It's still PLENTY LOUD...
Not rocket science. Heck, I'm a retired Optometrist and it was easy for a non-wrench like myself.

on3wego, I added TWO sets of BCT baffles to my BR's, one the QQ Thunder Monster Baffles QBL 1845, and behind them the QQ Thunder Monster Baffles QBL 1750.
The pipes are still quite loud, but not overpowering, and the exhaust "tone" is now much lower and has a real deep bass note to it. All of the raspiness and backfiring upon decel is gone too.
Good Luck with V & H BR's-
