My dad upgraded to a 2014 ultra limited. His old bike is a 2009 ultra. He kept the 09 ultra and is going to sell it outright because the dealer wouldn't give him much for it because it has 96,000 miles on it. The engine was replaced with a brand new engine and front brake system was replaced with all new components 20,000 miles ago. According to nada it's worth $15,500 and kbb says it's worth $14,800 but neither one give the option to put in the current miles. My dad has had it since it was new and had all 3 fluids changed every 5,000 miles with full synthetic oils.
So what do yall think would be a fair/good price for it?
This is Black Book Powetsports. With those miles I would guess around $9-10k.Year: 2009
Make: Harley-Davidson
Model: FLHTCU Ultra Classic EG
Model Type: Cruiser
Displacement: 1584
Cylinders: 2
Finance Advance: $12,660
MSRP: $20,999
Avg Retail: $14,560
Auction Wholesale $12,365
Clean Trade: $11,550
Fair Trade: $10,405
Top of my head, $7500-$9500 depending on condition. If it were my bike, I would put it on craigs starting at $10-12,000 or Best Offer. You never know. Then lower the price $500 every week till she goes. I would also do one or two auction runs on ebay. Start the bidding at .99 cents (with an appropriate Reserve). Might get lucky and get two guys who are really interested, and you might get close to Book. Be real specific with the engine replacement in particular, were it was done, receipts, etc..
First Check Craigslist....Look for comps..
Second throw it on Craigslist and start high, add a ton of pics.I think you can put up to 24?.....You can always lower the price.Anything over what the dealer was going to give you is a plus. Good Luck!!!

KBB trade-in value is $11,000 for a bike in good condition with mileage of 28,815. The $14,800 is dealer retail which is not what the dealer is going to give on trade.
You have to ask your self the question, "would you buy a guy's bike,
that had 96,000 miles on it, and the seller told you " The engine was
replaced with a brand new engine and front brake system was replaced
with all new components 20,000 miles ago." Do you have proof like
recites from whoever installed or rebuilt the engine, and breaks. Just
put yourself in someone else shoos and think about it, would you want
it If you didn't know first hand?
