Default What are the symptoms of an exhaust leak?

I recently added the V&H Power Duals,a set of V&H Monster Rounds, the V&H Fuel Pack and the SE heavy breather. Most times when I accelerate I hear what I think the the heavy breather doing its job, but I can't quit thinking that I have an exhaust leak. I tried spraying soap water around the exhaust ports and really didn't see any bubbles. Am I just being paranoid or should I keep looking?

Typically an exhaust would manifest itself in popping during deceleration, less than ideal performance and sometimes a ticking sound coming from the leak area.

OldEnuf just had lunch and his mother has him on a diet.

I had an audible low level banging noise on acceleration. New gaskets solved it real quick like.

Soapy water is what you use to find a natural gas or propane leak. Heat from the engine would boil it off.
Use a cigar or stick of incense.

Soap and water also good for finding air leaks on tires

Yep, cigars is what I use. Since I've got over 100 of them in a humidor.

I also find one of those long handled lighters works too, keep the flame low and away from paint and chrome. Think of the old lighter in a cave trick.
