Superglide with bags. What's not to like?
Pretty much what I've been riding the last 30+ years, it works.

I was looking between the 17 RK and a 16 Switch when I was shopping just for comparisons and size difference was slight with the smaller front end. It had been a M8 motor I'd have bought it.

Yeah, I've said before if they come out with a new version of the FXRT with the M8 I would give it a very close look.

If a dealer showed me a good deal on a '16 Switchback and offered me a good trade-in for my '04 RK, I might do it. I don't think it would be hard to get adequate power out of the '16 103.

I just put on the Vance and Hines slip on slash cut. It sounds better than stock. It is deeper. Sounding than stock. I didn't do a before and after, but I love to twist the throttle more now.

I love my bike. With some ergo, suspension and motor upgrades, the bike rocks. I've taken it in on numerous multiday/multistate trips and it's done the job well. Throw a T-Bag on the sissy bar and I'm good for days. It's agile and quick, tracks well in a turn and is visceral......it's a Dyna after all. I wish it had dual disk brakes, but actually, it stops well when using both front and rear brakes. It placed 2nd of 20 for shortest braking against sporty bikes of which I would have thought would easily outbreak a Harley.

The only real downside I've experienced are FLD specific parts vs. a more generic Dyna where parts are more available and sometimes cheaper.

Old pic....

I had a 2005 FXDI. Probably the best bike I ever owned. I put 45,000 miles on it in 4 years. Went from NY to Sturgis and back. Arkansas to Key West and many other places. Never game me any problems and I traded it with the original cam tensioners.

I traded it on a 2009 FLHX but I never really enjoyed the SG the way I did the FXDI. The FXDI was a keeper and I sort of regret getting rid of it.

This past March I picked up a 2009 RKC. I really love this bike but I had considered Superglide Custom or a Street Bob. I was wondering what a Superglide with a 96" and six speed would be like. One of the main reasons I went with the RKC is I didn't want to spend the money to get the Superglide set up with fwd controls, mustache bar, set of Boss Saddlebags and a windshield.
