Default Harley Davidson Engine Brightener

I know the HD brand engine brightener works well on the wrinkle black engine paint but my question is about another use for it. My truck doors were froze shut this morning and Ive read that a little silicone spray on the weatherstripping will prevent them from refreezing. Isn't the HD engine brightener basically just silicone spray? In a pinch couldn't I just spray it on my trucks weatherstrips without damaging them?

Generic silicone spray is probably cheaper than harley davidson silicone spray.

True but using the Harley branded stuff will make his truck "official".

Im sure it is but I don't have any generic spray here at the moment and I aint about to run into town just for that. I sprayed the truck's weather strips and it just took a little bit. Now maybe my FX4 F150 will be a Harley F150...

I heard it will leave white spots on your weatherstripping

WD 40 is cheaper and probably better than anything with the HD logo

I would use the silicone spray before the WD-40 on weather strips, something about petroleum distillates not good for rubber.

Spray the stuff onto a rag, then wipe the seals with the rag. A lot less messy than spraying away.

Fluid film works really good also.
