Default Is Harley pricing me out?

Here is the deal. I currently have a 09 ultra that is all stock and still looks and runs like brand new I love it. I am approaching retirement and I have cash stashed and looking at getting a new ride. Now what I am doing is looking at the bikes and comparing the bikes against others out there I am thinking now the gap is getting larger. I am not looking at debating ride vs ride which is better just thinking if I am going to spend my play cash at what point do I say, hmmmmm maybe there is a better deal out there. A big metric cruiser fully loaded is at least 10k less.

If you can be happy with a metric cruiser. buy 1. I couldn't.

I moved from an 09 Ultra to a 16 Limited....No regrets at all. No way I'd be as happy going metric.

Spend much less money by doing some upgrades to your current ride since it's still stock and looks/rides like new. Then you'll have a huge chunk of play money left over for other things in life.

I’ve actually been impressed with Harley’s pricing. When I compare Harleys to similar Hondas they seem pretty competitive. When I factor in Harley’s superior quality, they seem like a bargain even before I add in the fun factor.

But I sure couldn’t blame a guy for buying what he considers a good deal, whatever the brand. I can’t see riding anything but a Harley for now, but I sure see a lot of metrics out on the road so there’s plenty of guys who see things different from me!

I was in Oatman AZ with the Limited a couple weeks ago and there were about thirty other motorcycles there, every last one a Harley. It's funny, I might have felt like a conformist but actually just felt right at home. Harley has a recipe the other guys just don't have and that is worth something for me. Plus I rode a Goldwing for a week once, essentially the same money as an Ultra, but for me lacked appeal.

How much are you looking to spend? If you plan on retiring and going on long trips/touring across the country you might be hard pressed to find an abundance of Yamasaki shops available to help you during your travels..... That was a big factor in deciding for me. There's a HD shop in almost every city so service and parts are readily available should I need them during my travels.

I live in Alberta as you do, so I'm familiar with the prices you'd be paying. Give an example to illustrate your $10k less claim.
