Default AM ride to clear my head

Decided to go for a bit of a ride this morning, just me, my thoughts and the bike. Went to Canyon Lake, and Tortilla Flat, northeast of Phoenix.

Nice pics! How is the road going up to Canyon Lake? Still as rough as ever?

Beautiful state, I lived with a girl from Safford, Arizona for a while. I loved going to Arizona to visit.

yep, once you get past Goldfield, it gets pretty sketchy, stay towards the center of the road, and it isnt too bad. center of the lane is unusable.

you can still easily do the speed limit, but that isnt saying much on that road (mostly 15-35mph through the pass). Right now its better than the run to Saguaro thats being repaved, its 25mph and crowded as of a couple of weeks ago. I may have to do a run to Globe/Superior for a nice road with decent speeds and some good twisties. Ran the Winkelman Loop about a month ago with some co-workers, and that was a great ride.

I agree. Those are some of my favorite rides. Rode up through Salt river canyon last month, that was a really fun ride as well. Enjoy going up past Roosevelt lake and on up to Payson also. Nice thing is we can pretty much do it year round.

I like to ride in the morning, as long as I'm NOT going east.
