Default It Finally Happened I Dropped My Bike.

I had my 2012 Softail Slim for 5 years 10,000 miles and Never Dropped it. Now that I got 2017 Street Glide Special I go and drop the thing.
The Engine Guard and Highway Peg caught it thank God. No Damage.
I guess it's a good thing I waited till I had an engine guard before I dropped one.
People really surprised me though. Everybody patiently waited as my bike was laying in the middle of the road and two guys got out of their vehicle and helped me pick it up.
I am fine the bike is fine but I was more than a little embarrassed.
I know what happened. I have developed a terrible habit of holding on to the front brake too long. Letting off the front brake and finishing the stop with the rear is the way to go.
Strike that last Statement. Motorman from Ride Like A Pro Videos explained it to me.

The old saying is true: If you haven't dropped your bike, you either don't ride it enough or you're full of ****...

I can honestly say I've not dropped the new CVO Limited over its first 4,600 miles. Knock on wood, I don't for a very long time.

Very first ride on the brand spankin' new Limited, parked and simply forgot to drop the jiffy stand. Rode my previous bike for 10 years, never a drop. Crash bars are worth their weight in gold the first time they save a saddlebag.
