Time to get new tires. Been using stock HD Dunlops and I really don't have any complaints. Was thinking about going w something w a lil more grip. What do you say about the Michelin Commander? I ride a 2013 Road Glide Custom. Thanks

 

I cannot tell any difference in the grip but truely not sure how you could do that unless you pushed your Lops to a speed in a turn till it was breaking loose and then try to see if the Michelin can do it faster.

I do not drive that way. I just want a long lasting smooth ride.
I sure know they are a much smoother running tire then the Harley Lopes where. Interesting since they seem to be slightly harder. Just that hardness would appear to be slippery on dry pavement. My last tires before them were Metzelers and they appeared slightly harder then the Michelin. They were so hard, they squeeked on my garage floor.
Keep in mind that the rear 17" OEM Lop tire on a Duece is very soft. I was lucky to get 10k driving it easy. The Michelin do howl at a certain speed in a turn over on the chicken strip. Either that or my guardian angel.

 

Night and day better than Dunlop’s I’m going to end up with about 3k more mileage than the stock FLHTK tires. Way softer ride and better handling especially over Tar snakes. Have a new set sitting in the dining room from Dennis Kirk. Have recommended them to a lot of my friends haven’t heard one complaint yet.

 

+1 on the michelin from my experience they wear better and do not cup like the Dunlop.

 

Thought about trying the Michellin tires but i get such good miles on my Dunlop American Elites that i just could not pull the trigger. On average i get about 17,000 miles on a set. Even then they don't look to bad. My worry is switching and getting a lot less out of a set. So i will stick with what i know

 

Could not agree more. My Electra Glide classic is much more maneuverable with the Michelin's mainly because of the flat center of the rear tire on the old Dunlops.

 

I ride in the very rainy south - I love the confidence the Mich PWR CMDR II's give me.

 

I have commander 11's on my bike and won't use anything else,I've got 20,000kms on them and should be able to get this year out of them as well.

 

If you're just looking for a good, long wearing tire, don't discount the Metzler 888s

 

I used to use the Comm II's. They seemed like a pretty good tire and you could get a lot of miles out of them but, in my experience they give up some grip in the wet compared to Avon's. Of course the Avon's give up mileage life to the Michelin's. So you have to decide what is more important to you. I have a tire machine and change my own, and I ride pretty aggressively so I use the Avon's.
