Default I don't want to wash my Street Glide...

anymore. It is an 09 with 60,000 miles and I feel like I am either washing it or it is dirty. I only have a carport at home and no cover at work. I am kind of starting to like the 'Mad Max" look that it is getting.

It will never be a show queen again. So...Does anybody think it will damage anything to stop washing it completely. Should I worry about any specific part becoming damaged more than cosmetic? ie. seals, chrome pitting or etc. Washing is a good time to catch other issues I suppose. But, can a twice yearly wash and wax suffice for this purpose?
Thanks in advance everybody!

Maybe stop parking it in the shrubbery for one thing. That probably doesnt help...

its your bike do what you want, ever heard of a cover to put on it. As for hurting it, well the more grime build up the less likely that it will polish up.

Get over yourself. My bikes look much worse than that after just one ride and neither are black. If you consider that a Mad Max look, I will fly you to my house and let you live here rent free if you just detail my bikes after I ride them.

As you live in FL, you might want to at least rinse it off regularly as the salt air will corrode the Aluminum parts. Rinsing with a hose will keep the dust and some of the crud off of it and twice yearly washing will take care of the rest.

Get some Simple Green concentrate and a pump sprayer. Mix the concentrate, spray on bike, hose off. It only takes a few minutes and it’ll keep the bike looking good with little effort. Then you can just worry about a good detailing a couple of times a year.

I live in Florida also, and one of my riding friends bought a brand new Ultra 2 years ago, and we both live near the ocean. He has only washed it twice since he's had it, and it would make me cry if it were mine.

All the aluminum is deeply pitted and white now, and all the chrome has turned green and flaking. The paint is totally shot. (It is parked in a garage) I literally wouldn't give him $1,000 for that bike now. My bike is 14 years old and looks new still. I have over 70,000m on mine, and he has about 5,000m on his.

Only you can decide how you want your bike to end up.

After posting this, I looked at the front wheel and it has a little pitting. I need a new front tire soon and I will give it a good polish while it is off the bike. Thank you X51, I will try the simple green/hose thing. I ride it just about daily and a cover would get old really fast. Just by posting this, I realize that I am proud of my bike and I should act like. Thank you all for the advice!

I don't mind a mildly dirty bike but I don't think never washing it is a good idea.
