The front fender cut could have been blended upwards a bit. Rear fender has an FXR look to it, I like.

OP that really looks nice. I think the color is GREAT!

Not sure I would do that if I owned a Fat Boy but under your circumstances I applaud you.

I recently chopped the rear fender on my 1994 Fatboy. I did it because a previous owner had installed chrome fender tips and I never really liked them. They look too much like "1955 Cadillac" to me. But when I removed them, there was a ton of ugly rust and marred paint underneath. Unacceptable!

I just used a Sharpie marker, Dremel cutting wheel, and touch-up paint. It's not noticeable unless you're looking for it.

EDIT: I forgot this part..... I removed about 1.5 inches.

And you only needed touch up paint. You must have really taken your time. Good job.
I had the painet cut the fenders and wish I would have had him cut more of a radius at the insection with the factory edge. I cut and painted my Sportster rear fender and think it looks right.

Fender after chopping - left side - maximum bob without leaving the strut extended past the end of the fender

Fender after chopping - right rear side

I would really like to put on a new swingarm and 200 tire with a strutless Fender cut even higher like the 2018 FatBoy. As far as the color, I have never been a big fan of the blue color it was so it was the perfect opportunity to make the change. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks. Honestly, in looking back I wish I had made it a bit more curved. That is, it should have tapered down to a point in the center. I may still do that sometime if I get bored enough.

Just so everyone knows, I went through about 12-15 cutting wheels on the Dremel. Those things are extremely fragile and short-lived.
