Default Almost Done, Getting Impatient.

Probably have 4-6 weeks before I can ride again up here. I installed a set of heat demon hand grip heaters this winter and I just finished up changing all my polished aluminum engine and transmission covers to chrome, plus I changed my rear pulley to a 68T from a 66T. (I have an 07 Standard)

I also just purchased a used Tour Pack in Vivid Black and ordered the appropriate quick detach hardware and a luggage rack. Once everything comes in and I get everything fitted I'll tear it back down and send it out to get color matched.

I do have a question though. The bottom part of the latches on the base of the tour pack are attached with screws, the top parts are riveted as are the hinges. Any ideas on what to replace the rivets with when I drill them out?

Jim

Lucky you....yet another nor’easter headed here tonight. Probably be sometime in May for me.

If it were me, I’d buy the upgraded hinges and latches from HD.

Well the only thing that you listed, that I know any thing about Is the 66 tooth pulley. I have one on my bike and I can promos you that you are going to like the heck out of it, I know I do mine. Did you use an American sportster pulley or a Jap sportster pulley? The American pulley is one piece that bolts direct to the wheel, and the Jap pulley is a three piece set that has those rubber things in them. Oh yeah one more thing, I don't know about kilometers but the 66 tooth makes my bike run five miles per hour slower than what the speedometer says, so to run 75 miles per hour my speedometer has to read eighty miles per hour.

I have been riding to work to the tune of about 400mi since Friday. This just confirms that there is no damn way I could live much (or any) farther north than I do now. Our bikes never get "winterized" or "stored". The weather gets kinda crappy December-February but I've managed 4000mi+ since Jan 1 with some gear. I have a real good friend that lives in southern Canada (Northern MN) and he talks about cabin fever and the like. I really honestly can't relate but I truly feel for the guy.

I still think you should buy the upgraded ones. They look great (and don’t use rivets). They’ll set the pak off nicely.
