But it says the dealer painted the tanks after repossessing the bike from the owner. So did the owner have a factory Unpainted Knucklehead????

I doubt it. Either way there's something missing from the story. On that I think we all agree.

Are we missing something of the start of this? Think what we have here is a failure to communakate.

OK!! Looks like we all can agree . . . CCE Brett Foote has no idea what he is writing about. He should stick to what he might know, like maybe Blue Oval = Ford, Bowtie = Chevy. Who the hell brought him in here, HD Forum?

TOTALLY AGREED w/above

Maybe I am a little critical as I had a magazine column for years and I presently work as a 'proofer' and contributor to an other. If you are a paid 'journalist', you must be ACCURATE and CONCISE which the author is consistently neither. You cannot be contradictory or inaccurate, let alone post bs which is found here all the time. Other than Johnny Mayday, no one seems to get it right..

You get what you pay for, I guess. I don't think we're paying much, btw.

Based less on content and more on the technical, journalism is fast becoming a lost art. Proofreading is all but nonexistent, and as long as it makes it through spellcheck it's allowed.

Slightly related trivia I discovered when checking to see if nonexistent should be hyphenated: Roughly 16,000 words that were once hyphenated are no longer. I know now that it happened in 2007, but it's still news to me.

[QUOTE=Redoilokie;17311811]You get what you pay for, I guess. I don't think we're paying much, btw.

Granted, I /we love our forum and it is a bargain BUT the CCE's are getting paid. That's my point.. Typical industry standard for a piece like this is 100 to 250 if you agree to hand over the rights. There are so many guys that would like this gig that could do a way better job... These CCE articles just seem to be 'mailed in'. I would really like to see some great CCE posts that are entertaining or educational.. Other than Johnnie Mayday's posts, the others are just frustrating - only because the content is so poor, we all know better - as mentioned above ie the 'Sportster' post..

Just because you could, doesn't mean you can...
