Would you say that removing the Harley Davidson name from the fuel tank is defaming ?

Defaming? Heck no! I've known quite a few riders over the years who removed the badging for one reason or another. It's no big deal.
As a side note: I had a couple of ricers that I ended up having with out badges (replaced or repainted the tanks) and the funny part of all of that is the majority of people still thought they were Harley's. You would have thought the radiator and shaft drive would have given it away to start. I did have one ask if one of the ricers was the new Victory! Being the kind soul that I am, I let them continue with their strange beliefs.
