Default Will 94 FLSTN run for 7 yrs with camshaft upside down?

Will 94 FLSTN run for 7 yrs with camshaft upside down? I had dealer replace primary seal last year and it just struck me as maybe a SCAM as of late. I also now sometimes hear a metallic clack on cold starts that quickly dissipates but I upgraded the tappets to get more oil to top end, so why the clacking after upgrade (they also installed new pistons and rings) THANKS!

Welcome to the forums. We know the answer but you must have at least five posts before we can share it with you. And in one of those posts you have to tell us where you put your gas cap when filling up.

Sorry they are MoCo rules.

O.P.

Obviously the oscillator which impeded the pulses from the distribulatory balancer has encountered an erratic signal coming form the harmonic inducer ... This can be corrected by using synthetic points and comdensor.

There is no right side up or upside down for a camshaft, some one is jacking with you. One time back when we had full service gas stations, I convinced my sister to tell the gas station attendant to check her piston rings, and she did, but the attendant told her to tell her little brother to Stop It!

Not sure about the 94 model FLSTN but the 97 and up motors the cam can run fine either way. Hope this helps.

So you can just stick a cam in, in any position? I'm learning something from 2 people, early in one thread. One has a camshaft either backwards or 180* out and his bike runs, and another says it doesn't matter. I've wasted so much time. Why do they even bother with those silly marks?

You can, but only if you run the engine counterclockwise below the equator.
