2018 ULtra 115 ANN Seat Seperating
#1
So I have a brand new 115 ANN and it had 1400 miles on it and I called in to tell them my seat was separating or pulling apart. The CSR provided me a reference number and made it sound like it would be warranty. I take it to the servicing dealer. Great dealer by the way and they submitted it in to only be declined. I then called back and the CSR said he would resubmit it and get back to me. 48 hours later no call so I call back in.. Guess what no call notes from that call. The New CSR guy tells me it was not warranty and he didn't need to resubmit. We had a few words. I asked for a detail email on this and it had to be relooked at.. For god sake 1400 miles on the bike 2 months old. IS NOT NORMAL WEAR. He said he would call me on Monday with more details. So about two hours later I got an email from him saying "The seat would not be covered under Harley-Davidson's manufacturers warranty due our Harley-Davidson's cosmetic guidelines. "
It is very frustrating.. I would understand if I snagged it etc. But I did nothing but ride it..
HELP what can I do?
Its at the stiching

I had a extended warranty on a Sportster and the plastic seat pan crack in half after 3 yrs and 15,000 mile . The dealer and Harley both told me it was not a warranty item . It fell into the category of tires, lightbulbs, and brake pads .

This is very easy - Small claims court for MSRP of a replacement seat which is about 40% over retail. Call the local newspaper and notify the dealer you are suing them and you have the news paper coming. Its AMAZING how fast a seat will show up. Ask me how I know, or better yet, ask my FORMER dealer...
Unless you're 600 lbs with a wrench in your back pocket, this should not happen

One way to find out, give it a try and see what happens. It's been my experience that not every salesman/dealership treats customers the same way.
