Default Who rides as primary transportation

Ok, After seeing the "Why are you riding so much" thread, it got me wondering who rides as their primary transportation.

Ill go first.

I ride 99 days out of 100 here in AZ. About the only two things that will get me into the car is if the whole family needs to go, or if its threatening to seriously rain. I commute to and from my primary job on it, and I use the motorcycle at my night job delivering Freaky Fast sandwiches four nights a week.

Before any of you call me a ***** for not doing the rain, understand here that by rain, I mean stuff that would keep most cagers inside, Night before last, we got a storm that dropped nearly 3.5 inches in an hour in some parts of the Phoenix Metro Area. Thats the kind of thing that I avoid. Little showers aint nothin, but a full blown frog strangler or flash flooding can be downright life threatening

I used to ride daily. It was my only form of transportation. I found it took the fun out of it in a way. If I took the long way home cause I was having fun it was amazing though. Sometimes I would use that to just get the stress out and loved it. But just using it as a "car" wasn't always fun.

It isn't a downpour out I'm on the bike daily, bike cuts an hour plus off my daily commute, truck hasn't seen 700 miles the last 18 months.

I'm somewhere in between the first two. I ride to work when the weather is nice and on the weekends when I can. Work is 37 miles one way and usually dark the whole way in the am.

Daily commuter here. 57 miles one way to work. I put about 32,000 miles on the bikes last year, and around 3000 miles on my truck.

When I retired in April 2017, I sold my Wife's 2012 Escape XLT and gave her my 2012 Limited. I don't own a car anymore, I still drive the Escape if I need to get something with the trailer.
But Typically, we go trough a tank of gas in the car in a month with her using most of it. I go through 4-6 tanks of fuel between my two bikes in a month.

I ride everyday between March and november. Then put away for winter and maybe get 2 days each month I can stretch her legs. With the exception of kid weekends. Kinda sucks every other weekend I have to take the Chevy. Rain or shine, when I don’t have my kids I ride! Not bad for central Illinois!

I ride unless there's a torrential downpour. The bike is a grocery getter, an errand runner, a Sunday drive and a to and from work. This year's been awfully shitty though, drizzle doesn't bother me a lot but what we've been getting is far from drizzle.

I ride most every day here in Ohio. My policy is if it isn’t pouring down rain when I roll up the garage door I ride, regardless of the forecast. In the winter I ride every day unless it’s icing or there’s a snow emergency.

Couldn’t pick an option because I ride for fun but not just on the weekends.
